My mom and dad came to visit for a few days last week. I decided we needed a little photo shoot. Unfortunately, Drew was m.i.a. but the girls (and my mom and dad) were good sports (for the most part).
My dad was a college art professor for thirty-three years before he retired. On Friday we had a little art lesson with oil pastels.
It was really quite fun, and I decided to make a point to sit down and draw a little more often. Kind of therapeutic. Artists labeled as follows....
my mom
Sierra
Gentry
me
Sadie
Our instructor
And before my parents flew home....we finished with one final tradition. Strawberry shortcake.
For many, many years....
...like before Gentry was even born (then)....
my kids have asked their grandpa to make his famous shortcake (now).
And he always obliges.
I'd like to share the recipe with you, but my dad has never written down his original creation. Just take my word for it. Yum.
